| THE VERY BEST OF ROME
This service is simply magnificent. It allows you to have a complete and general overview of our entire City. With our comfortable and brand new cars/minivans you will have the possibility of being driven where big busses cannot go by low. In this way you will really see more, walk definitely less and enjoy it all!!
The tour normally starts at 09.00 a.m. from your hotel in Rome where one of our driving guides (perfectly bilingual) will be waiting for you at the reception.
Remember that all our tours are flexible so it is very easy – if you already have places that you want to see – to agree with our driving guide which spots to be manly concentrated on.
Anyway what we normally do is driving you to the main spots in town. Getting first to the real heart of the city where you will be surely impressed by the outstanding white monument dedicated to the first King of Italy (Victor Emanuel II of Savoy's Monument) the so called "Wedding Cake" because of its shape and its white colour, the tour will continue heading for the most ancient part of the city. Indeed after driven past the enchanting Roman and Imperial Forums it will be time for the visit to the Colosseum, the largest and most imposing amphitheatre ever built for entertainment purposes of the time. We are talking about the place that throughout the entire Roman History could gather more than 70.000 spectators at once to assist at the daily gladiator shows held on its arena. During this first part of the day there will be also time for the Trevi Fountain where to toss the famous coin that - according to the legend - will make you come back to Rome and the Spanish Steps (main Roman shopping district) or the Pantheon (a great example of Roman temple, the famous and gigantic Temple dedicated to all the gods of the Olympus).
Then - generally after a lunch stop - the second part of the day will be spent almost entirely for the Vatican. We provide guided tours of the Vatican, too, but you can always decide to do it on your own being thou very careful not to get lost, and that is why we tend to suggest you to hire a tour guide (always useful for explanations and directions). The tour includes the visit to the great Vatican Museums (the only way to get to the Sistine Chapel), Sistine Chapel with its great frescoes by Michelangelo, the overwhelming Saint Peter's Basilica (where the magnificent statue "PIETA'" by Michelangelo is) and eventually its marvellous front square with a great view of the façade of the Basilica and the window of the Pope.
Remember that the Vatican is always closed on Sunday, but every last Sunday of every month. We highly recommend not to visit the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel on Saturdays because it tends to get too overcrowded.
After the visit to the Vatican (smallest but richest State in the World) our Driving guides - if requested – will be more than welcome to take you have a gelato in one of the best "Gelato Sellers" in the city.
After the gelato it will be almost time to go back to the hotel.
The tour will end at your hotel at 05.00 o'clock pm.
