POMPEII EXCAVATIONS

This is a tour designed for the ones who wants only to visit Pompeii excavations.
At 08.00 o'clock am or 9.00 am, as you like, one of our expert bilingual Driving-guides will be waiting for you at the reception of your accommodation in Rome.
After 2 h and 30 minute driving in a very cosy and air conditioned car/minivan you will reach the excavations of Pompeii located at the foot of the Vesusvius, the Volcano whose magma - during the big eruption of the year 79 AD - covered entirely the city. Pompeii before the eruption was a lively port city and can be still visible today thanks to the excavations occurred in the 18th century.
In there you will have an incredible experience, you will feel like being back in time. Some of the recovered houses still contain the original marble decoration, well preserved frescoes and splendid mosaics.
You will have a 2 hour tour in there, because on average that is the time needed for a good visit.
You can choose to do it on your own with or without audio-guides always following paths suggested my the maps that you will be provided with. You can follow the 1 h and 30 minute path, the 2 hour path or others.
Or you can choose to hire a tour guide for a 2 hour guided tour of the excavations, very useful for explanations and directions.
After the visit you will meet you driver outside the excavations and then back to the accommodation in Rome.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT:

to dress respectfully for the visit to religious buildings: knees and shoulders covered;
to take with you comfortable walking shoes if possible;
to keep an eye on your wallet; it is recommended not to wear precious jewelry or large amount of cash;

ADMISSION FEES:

Entrance fee to Pompeii ruins is 11.00 euro;
Additional 2 hour professional guide for the visit of Pompeii ruins 120.00 euro;
The 120.00 euro for the optional tour guide are not included in the rate, we will add them to it if you decide to hire a guide.

NOTES:

Exploration of Pompeii is entirely on foot and involves about 2 hour walking. Low heeled comfortable shoes and a sun hat recommended;
Pompeii is not wheel chair accessible

RATE:

Price DOES NOT include neither lunch nor entrance fees.

Note that the driver will not enter sites but will give running commentaries of what you are seeing The vehicle will escort you for the entire tour .Walking is limited unlike bus tour where you have to walk the whole day.
