Tivoli or Tibur (its first classical name) is a wonderful little town that is around 40 minute driving far from Rome. The tour will start from your hotel in Rome where one of our driving guides (perfectly bilingual) will be waiting for you at the reception.
Tivoli had always been a very important place mainly for its caves of travertine marble used by the Romans to build the countless monuments and buildings that are still visible today in Rome.
During the Ancient Roman time Tivoli was a place where all the richest people of Rome and the same Emperors had their holiday residences built thanks to its mild climate and a beautiful view of big part of our capital city.
During the Renaissance time Cardinal Ippolito d'Este built his big Villa in Tivoli, being today the main attraction of the town. Its Villa, the so-called Villa d'Este will be indeed our spot.
You will be surely enchanted by its wonderful internal design with its unbelievable frescoes and breathtaking ceilings.
But the best part is surely the gardens. Well, the gardens of this Villa are incredible; you will go down the path all surrounded by nature and I am sure you will feel speechless in front of the countless fountains that adorn them.
You will be walking through a villa built in the year 1550 and I strongly believe that you will be amazed by it.
